eighty percent of the homes within its 1.5 square mile borders are part
of the New Jersey and National Register of Historic Places.
Glen Ridge is a friendly small town, with fewer than eight
thousand residents. Located just 11 miles west of Manhattan, commuting to NYC easy. From the
renovated Ridgewood Ave train station, it’s a quick trip to NYC’s Penn station
or to Hoboken NJ, with connecting PATH service to Manhattan. Town shuttle bus service, from both the north and south ends
of town, transports residents to and from the station. DeCamp buses in Bloomfield & Montclair provde transportation to NYC's Port Authority. If you rather drive, major highways are nearby.
Many people are attracted to Glen Ridge for the school system. In 2014, New Jersey Monthly Magazine reported
Glen Ridge High School, as the 27th among the top New Jersey public high
schools.
Recreational activities abound. Tennis, paddleball and swimming are all available at town
parks. There’s also a Senior Community Center. Although the business district
is small, Glen Ridge is a quick hop, skip and a jump to downtown Montclair or Bloomfield.
