BLOOMFIELD NJ - Just 11 Miles from Manhattan 


Bloomfield, NJ has a population of approximately 48,000 in 5.3 square miles.  Housing stock is aHalcyonplus.JPG mixture of older colonials, mid-century cape cods and split levels. There are also numerous multi-family houses, condominiums and abundant rental units, including the recently opened Glenwood Village, a residential building with 224 rental apartments with retail space and a parking deck.     

Bloomfield NJ is a commuter's dream. With two train stations, it's an easy trip to NY Penn Station and Hoboken NJ via NJ Transit. As an added bonus, the town provides a shuttle service to the train. There is also bus transportation to Port Authority NYC and Newark. with the light rail to Newark Penn Station. There are multiple access points to the Garden State Parkway, which bisects the town. Route 3 and 280 are also close by.

 “The Green” is the historic town center. It is home to Bloomfield College, a private four year institution, founded in 1863.  Two large county parks, Bookdale Park and Watsessing Park are among the numerous green spaces in town. Bloomfield NJ is also home to the Bloomfield Public Library and the Oakside Bloomfield Cultural Center

The Bloomfield school district consists of 9 elementary schools, one middle school (7th & 8th grade) and one high school. 

Downtown Bloomfield, with its easy access to NYC, has been undergoing a major redevelopment in recent years, with new shops, restaurants and housing, which is bringing new life into the town.
