GLEN RIDGE NJ - A Quiet Leafy Enclave Glen Ridge Borough is a quiet suburban residential community of approximately 7,500, with a history dating back to colonial times. The massive oaks lining the streets of Glen Ridge form a leafy canopy over the sidewalks, working gaslights and stately homes, representing a wide range of architectural designs from the 19th and 20th centuries. Over seventy-five percent of the homes within its 1.5 square mile borders are part of the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. Glen Ridge is close to the NY metropolitan area, making it an ideal town for commuters. From the renovated Ridgewood Ave train station, it’s a quick trip to NYC’s Penn station or to Hoboken NJ. Town shuttle bus service, from both the north and south ends of town, transports residents to and from the station. Bus service to New York and Newark is also available.
